The truth is, there is no secret!
All you need to do is follow this beauty mantra, and you are well on your way to that dewy glow.
First step: Know your skin.
Knowing what tips the balance of your skin is the first step to achieving that supple and healthy glow. Our skin acts as a barrier against so many external pollutants, and in order to find out what is the best way to Purify and Nourish your skin, you must first discover what is your skin type. Contrary to popular belief, we do not have just ONE skin type. In fact, our skin falls on different points of the skin spectrum on different days. Ladies, especially, are mercy to the hormone levels that fluctuate throughout the month. So, someone who naturally has “normal” skin type, may find herself having slightly oilier skin during her time of the month. So, just listen to your body, and take time to find out what your body needs. A skincare routine that works for you in your late 20s, may not work for you in your 30s!
Second step: Purify.
There are so many types of serums, creams, moisturizers, essences and toners available in the market. Choosing a cleanser though, is usually an afterthought. What is most important in skincare is in fact, what we do first thing every morning – Cleansing. Think of it as your first foray into your beauty ritual or a moment just for yourself as you prepare for your day ahead.
Third step: Nourish.
The best time to indulge yourself is always at night. Use a small amount of moisturizer, gel or facial oil and apply a small dot to your cheek, chin and forehead. Then, gently using your fingertips, massage gently, always in upward and outward strokes. The golden rule is to look for an antioxidant-rich ingredient that suits your skin type. Facial oils are generally suitable for all skin types, even including oily skin!
You deserve a time just for yourself. One to two minutes each morning and evening will be a serene and calming spa-like moment that you will always look forward to.
